Featured Friday – Bringing Local Businesses Together in Ottawa Gatineau
Wabi Sabi Yarn – Wellington West / Hintonburg
Wabi Sabi is a wonderful little yarn shop located in Ottawa, in the quaint little neighbourhood of Wellington West (also known as Hintonburg). They have a huge selection of fibre craft, knitting and crochet, weaving, felting, colour and dye supplies, and more! Let’s take a virtual photo tour of their colourful and friendly storefront.
Not so savvy on the whole arts & crafts thing? No problem! Wabi Sabi has a back room where they host all kinds of workshops and classes where you get to learn cool things, meet new friends (and their super friendly staff and instructors!), and create fabulous works of art (or at least meaningful attempts, at first..).
We used their awesome crafting and art supplies to create this chocolate brown DIY handmade wet felted mini blanket with decorative needle felted curly wool, and this fantastically soft cream knitted baby blanket. I am a sucker for textures, and thick yarns are my favourite! What about you?
If you’ve never been, you should absolutely check it out. The shop owner, Marie-France, is very friendly and her staff is super helpful and awesome! You can find Wabi Sabi at 1078 Wellington Street, Ottawa. Check our their website or facebook page for updates.
